The horrifying reality of the Yulin Dog Meat Festival
Every year, thousands of dogs are captured off the street or stolen from their families for Yulin, China’s infamous festival.
The dogs are shipped for thousands of miles under horrendous conditions. They are bludgeoned and their throats are cut in front of other terrified dogs.
There are some simple actions you can take to stand against the dog and cat meat trade and this festival.

WE'RE MAKING PROGRESS
The Duo Duo Project’s mission is to end the dog and cat meat trade forever. So we’re excited to report that support for the Yulin festival is waning.
The number of dogs being slaughtered at the festival has fallen from 10,000 in 2016 to 3,000 in 2020. Together we can end this torturous trade.
OUR APPROACH

ANIMAL RESCUE & CARE
We help rescue dogs from the meat trade and operate 2 shelters. Our spay and neuter programs limit the supply of stray animals that fuel the black market.

ANIMAL WELFARE ADVOCACY
OUTREACH & EDUCATION
We lead culturally conscious programs that help people see dogs and cats as invaluable companions rather than objects to be used or feared.
Our team collaborates with local policymakers, lawyers, NGOs, and activists to enhance protection for companion animals.
Our teams and partners are in Yulin fighting for dogs and cats. Read our most recent blog post about the Yulin Festival.

Duo Duo Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
All donations are tax deductible.
